British Invasion - The Beatles are coming to iTunes
OK, time to go total fanboy here for just a minute or two. I’ve been waiting for this moment to arrive for quite some time now.
Of all the rumors that fly around about Apple and iPods and iTunes, there’s one that I’ve always really wished would come true. I’ve always wanted to get The Beatles into iTunes.
And now, apparently, that’s exactly what we’re going to have.
I couldn’t be more pumped.
Now, arguably the greatest and most influential band in the history of rock and roll will have their music available for you and I to purchase on our computers and load onto our lovely little iPods.
This rocks.
On so many different levels.
Think about it, this is the final validation that downloading music online, legally, is how we’ll all be buying all of our music within the next few years.
Call me an idiot, but I think that we’ll see the end of CD sales in retail stores within 5 years. That’s how big this news is.
This is more than just another band deciding to sell their music online.
It’s the Beatles. Did you hear me? THE BEATLES.
Not just another band, but THE BAND. The band that all other bands are judged by. I know I’m really deep into fanboy land, but just deal with it.
This is big news. I’m sitting here trying to find the exact words to describe just how important that this is, but I just can’t.
It’s big. Earth-shattering, even.
Thank God I still have some credits left from Christmas. I’ll be using all of them as soon as the tracks become available.
You should too.
