HP offers HD DVD and Blu-ray drives on new Media Center computers

I love HP. And remember, that comment comes from a Mac guy. I love HP for many reasons, one of which is that I’m not supposed to. I’m supposed to love Dell. But I don’t, and I think it has a lot do with the same reason that I can’t stand the New York Yankees. They’re always the best, or at least they’re supposed to be. Just like Dell.
But here I have one of the many reasons why I love HP. I can get a desktop from them that offers me the best of both HD disc worlds. I can have my HD DVD and eat my Blu-ray cake all at the same time.
You can now order a customized HP Pavilion m9000t series desktop computer right now with a combo HD DVD/ Blu-ray player for less than $1,600.
So, you get a nice PC with a Intel Core 2 Quad processor, 3GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive, 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS graphics card, and a combo HD disc drive all in one slick little package. Or, customize the PC to your heart’s content and add a Blu-ray writer to the mix. Click on through to play with the options and get your next PC.
Thank you HP. I knew you could do it. Thank you for giving people what they want. A drive that plays both discs. Soon, we won’t have to decide on a format, it won’t matter. This is the first step in the right direction.
For those of you interested, you can also pick up a HP Pavilion m9000z series desktop with an AMD chip rather than the Intel. If you want to.
I’ll have full reviews of both of these systems at a later date.
